The Episcopal Conference is about to formalize the establishment of a task force that will support the National Office of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) and the Episcopal Conference itself in the implementation of a comprehensive program of initiatives to celebrate the Extraordinary Missionary Month (EMM) in October 2019. The task force is based on a committee of experts formed last April on the initiative of the PMS National Director. In June, the committee presented recommendations to the Episcopal Conference on preparatory activities and event planning for the EMM. One of the committee's proposals was to set up a task force, which will soon be officially launched by the Episcopal Conference.
