Sudan also in preparation for the Extraordinary Missionary Month of October 2019

In addressing a message to the faithful last October 21st on the Extraordinary Missionary Month of October 2019, Msgr. Yunan Tombe Trille Kuku Andali, the bishop of El Obeid, the suffragan diocese of Sudan (Africa) under the archdiocese of Khartoum, stressed the missionary mandate, characteristic of each baptized person and the consequent appropriate formation for evangelization.

The prelate made his own the indications that emerged from a meeting of religious and diocesan clergy dedicated to the year-long preparation that separates us from the Extraordinary Missionary Month of October 2019. The diocesan missionary program began last September 30th, during the celebration of the feast of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, which is characterized by permanent prayers for the Church on the five continents, whereas the themes indicated by the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and the Pontifical Missionary Societies will be unfolded during the pastoral year.

In this regard, during the diocese's monthly formation meetings, the reflection will be especially focused on the encyclical dedicated to the missionary action of the Church. In addition, in the context of diocesan evangelization, Msgr. Tombe Trille Kuku announced that the founders of all the religious communities working in the diocese and sharing the fruit of their mission will be celebrated. Days of adoration will be held monthly in different churches in the city of El Obeid, and every two months the parishes will organize a day of prayer and reflection on the missions, each one led by different missionaries. Each initiative will be coordinated with Fr. Fabrizio Meroni, Secretary General of the Pontifical Missionary Union, in view of the Extraordinary Missionary Month of October 2019.
